La Marató de tv3 foundation will be funded 36 scientific research projects.

In its 2020 edition, dedicated to Covid-19, La Marató de tv3 has managed to raise 13,864,073 euros that will finance scientific research projects of excellence.

One of those projects that will receive funding is Dr Núria Verdaguer Massana project, director of the IBMB-CSIC, within the category “Towards understanding the molecular mechanisms of lethal mutagenesis to SARS-CoV-2.”

With this new fundraising from La Marató and the allocation of funds to research, the solidarity project of the Catalan Audiovisual Media Corporation and the Foundation has added, since 1992, close to € 216 million and has promoted a total of 949 research projects, in which 9,350 researchers have participated.

La Marató de TV3 y Cataluña Radio will celebrate its 30th edition on Sunday, December 19 and will be dedicated to mental health, a group of common health problems that affect one in four people at some point in life, with a social, health and quality of life impact of the affected people and their environment.
