Two PhD Positions at SBU (FPI2017)

TWO PhD POSITIONS IN THE FRAME OF FPI 2017 CALL

The Structural Biology Unit (SBU) is one of leading research units of the Spanish Research Council (CSIC). The SBU consists of seven research groups, featuring over 60 researchers, nearly 30% of which coming from different countries all over the world. The SBU was selected as a “María de Maeztu” Unit of Excellence in 2015.

Two PhD positions in the frame of FPI 2017 call are available in the following projects:

Study of tridimensional structure of mitochondrial proteins and DNA-protein complexes.

Group: Structural Biology of Mithocondrial macromolecules

PI: Maria Solà

Bioinformatic methods for tridimensional structures solution.

Group: Crystallographic methods

PI: Isabel Usón

The position is 4-year long, to start around first term of 2018. The grant covers the salary for four years and has an additional amount of money destined to short stays in I+D centers and to cover Phd programme enrollment expenses.

ELEGIBILITY

Candidates must accomplish:

• Be enrolled or admitted to a PhD programme for 2017-2018 when the candidacy is presented or at the moment the contract starts.
• Have not started a predoctoral training with grants form Plan Estatal de Investigación, Desarrollo e Innovación Tecnológica or some previous Plan Nacional.
• Have not been beneficiary of a predoctoral contract for more than 12 months.
• Do not hold a PhD.
