How do cell behaviours contribute to the formation of the tubes transporting gases and liquids…
The Structural Biology Unit celebrated the first Scientific Meeting in Vall de Núria on 6th-7th June. Around 45 people attended at the meeting. All the activities were held in the “Pic de l’Àliga” hostel.
During the first day afternoon and the evening, predoctoral and postdoctoral fellows from the seven research groups presented their methods and results. The talks allowed to get everybody familiar to the research is carried out in the Unit and to exchange expertise and opinions about the work between different groups. Also, an international recognized crystallographer, Dusan Turk, attended at the meeting and talked about the state of the art of MAIN, crystallographic software he developed, and some reflections on crystallographic statistical factors.
The fantastic natural environment where the meeting was held allowed enjoying a beautiful trekking on second day morning. The excursion to the Pic de l’Àliga gave a fantastic opportunity to share fun moments within unit’s people and to know better each other.
Scientific meetings of Structural Biology Unit were historically called SAU because of the place where the first one was held (near SAU water reservoir) in 1997. For more than 7 years, SAUs haven’t taken place. In 2016, the celebration of this scientific meeting is restarted with the objective to share group’s investigations progress and, moreover, live fun moments altogether.
